Get Involved...this is how

“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.” ― -Henry James

Sometime before (or after we will leave the website up) October 19 , 2025, think of a kindness to do for someone.  The more random and creative it is, the better. Offer a Genuine Compliment: Notice something positive about someone and tell them. It could be about their appearance, their work, or their personality. Hold the Door Open: A simple gesture of consideration for the person behind you, whether they are close or far away. Write a Thank-You Note: A handwritten note expressing gratitude for something someone has done, big or small. Listen Attentively: When someone is talking, give them your full attention without interrupting or judging. Show that you value what they have to say. Offer Help with Groceries/Packages: If you see someone struggling with heavy bags, offer to lend a hand. Let Someone Go Ahead in Line: If you only have a few items and someone behind you has fewer, let them go ahead. Share a Positive or Inspiring Message: Send a friend or family member a text, email, or card with an uplifting quote or message. Bake or Cook Something for Someone: A homemade treat or meal is a thoughtful way to show you care. Help with a Chore: Offer to help a friend or family member with a task they've been putting off, like laundry, yard work, or cleaning. Smile: A simple smile can brighten someone's day and make them feel acknowledged. It's contagious!  Be creative!  Have fun with it.  Then on October 19 or any time before or after share your kindness  by clicking here "Send us Your Kindness" or above.  It will be included in the Red Shoes Sunday Kindness celebration on October 19 at Scarborough Church and online at 10:30 am (click here Facebook or YouTube  or icons below  to attend).   There will be music and gratitude and encouragement and fun.

Also please be kind and support the Ossining Library and the Emergency Shelter Partnership by clicking the "Donate" button above.
