A Kindness Celebration!
On Sunday, October 20, 2024, Scarborough Presbyterian Church will host Red Shoes Sunday. This event encourages community members from near and far to celebrate kindness by wearing red shoes and being kind! If someone asks you about your red shoes, it’s a great opportunity to share the message of kindness and inspire others to perform their own kind acts!
Everyone is invited to engage in acts of kindness and share their experiences with us. (Click here to submit your Kindnesses).
You are also welcome to join a celebration of kindness during our worship service at Scarborough Church on October 20 at 10:30 am, which will be available both in person and online. (Simply click our Facebook or YouTube icons here or below to participate.)
If you are part of another worshiping community, we encourage you to incorporate Red Shoes Sunday and the theme of kindness into your service around October 20.
The idea of Red Shoes Sunday is dedicated to Bob Minzesheimer, a beloved member of the Scarborough Church who passed away seven years ago. Bob was known for his red Converse shoes and his gentle spirit, as he dedicated himself to uplifting our community in countless ways. (Learn more about Bob by clicking here.)
His legacy of kindness inspires us to wear red shoes and embody kindness, and we hope you will join us in this tribute.
On Red Shoes Sunday, we will collect donations to support the Ossining Library, which Bob cherished, and the Ossining Briarcliff Homeless Program. Please click the donation button above to contribute and support these important initiatives. Also, remember to click the "Send us Your Kindnesses" button to share your acts of kindness, both past and upcoming.
